Ambre Kalène is a contemporary Swiss-French painter. She began to exhibit in 1986 at the Trinité gallery in Lyon, starting with figurative watercolors of the city. Quickly, she evolved to creating subjective rather than realistic misty landscapes of Dombes. She will subsequently get interested in pastels, using them to create large formats all titled "Mirrors", which are meant to make the observer understand her intense interior feelings.

Kalène has been showing combined works in the current Art-Ecologique on huge formats for the past few years as a way of expressing her ongoing concern for the preservation of nature and the environment. She employs two approaches for this: acrylic for the painting's top and oil, which is much more noticeable, for the painting's bottom. Even though the viewer eventually only "sees" the colored part of the painting, subconscious associations between the two enable inner ecological progress.

Ambre Kalène was born in 1957, in Paris. She exhibited her works in France and Switzerland.
