Gül Aksoy

Painter Gül AKSOY was born on 17 February 1979 in Ankara. She was paralysed as a result of a febrile illness at the age of 8. At first, she could not speak and walk, but as a result of the treatments, she overcame the disease with partial paralysis in her right hand and right foot.

He had to leave school in those years because he could not continue his school life. During this time, she realised that her psychology could not handle it because she was constantly staying at home and started this adventure with a small painting course she discovered near her home.

She realised that she was fully cooked in this course centre and opened her own workshop by taking advantage of the opportunities that came her way. She completed her schooling from outside along with her studies here. She did not see her illness as an obstacle in any way and became a woman standing on her own feet.

As she said herself; "If you have something you dream of, walk without looking back. Because if you try to walk forwards with your head back, you cannot see the stones in front of you and you will trip and fall."

In 2015, she opened "Gül's Workshop" under her own name, where she trains students for Fine Arts Academies in addition to her personal works.
Her works are sold both in online auctions and galleries.
She still continues to work in her workshop in Ankara.
